About the Garden
Kwelera NBG, meaning ‘many aloes’, was officially declared in 2014 in the eastern Cape. It runs parallel to the Indian Ocean between the Gonubie and Kwelera river estuaries. The Garden includes pristine dune coastal forest vegetation, representative of the coastal region of the eastern Cape.

We had the opportunity to film a short discussion between Peter Hollingsworth, the Director of Science at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and Nomama Mei, the Curator at Kwelera Botanic Garden.
