About the Garden
The 154-hectare Karoo Desert NBG is situated in Worcester at the foot of the Hex River mountain range. It is recognized as the only true succulent garden in the southern hemisphere displaying one of the largest collections of indigenous succulents in South Africa. Only 11 hectares are cultivated, and the remaining are comprised of natural vegetation.
