Advancing Biodiversity Monitoring through Earth Observation, GIS, Remote Sensing, and Machine Learning
Dr. Mahlatse Kganyago presented a lecture titled “From Space to Species: Applying Earth Observation for Biodiversity Assessment and Monitoring” as part of the 2026 ACDB Seminar Series on 18 May 2026 at the University of Johannesburg. The presentation focused on how Earth observation technologies, GIS, remote sensing, and machine learning can be applied to strengthen biodiversity assessment and improve environmental monitoring.
