Gugu Gama is a biochemistry and botany graduate (2016) and is currently studying an Honours Degree in Botany at the University of Johannesburg. Her research uses DNA barcoding techniques and focuses on creating a compendium of locally-harvested bark species that are a part of the informal trade within traditional medicine. She is passionate about plants and service to humanity.
